We intend to provide you with articles and other documents that might stimulate and enrich your reflection and your research. Similarly, we wish to receive contributions written by you in order to increase the volume of material available to readers at this site. This way, we intend to create a Chinese-speaking intellectual community eager to build up a body of knowledge free of prejudice, open to questioning and dialogue and aiming to serve the human and intellectual needs of today's Chinese world. Our own dedication to this task is rooted in the spirit of Matteo Ricci, his Chinese friends and his successors, of all those who strove to build up an intellectual partnership between China and the rest of the world. We believe that the spirit they exemplified is still relevant today, as culture and human sciences play an essential role in opening up our civilization to questions of meaning and values.
